The grounding system is a factor that greatly affects the performance of the existing electrical system in Indonesia. This grounding system functions as a protection that functions on electrical equipment, electronics, industrial equipment, multi-storey buildings and houses. This protection is useful for protecting sensitive areas where disturbances occur due to lightning strikes and leaking electrical voltage can be channeled through grounding installations and channeled to the ground through grounding. This research focuses on the down conductor grounding engineering system. The purpose is to measure the soil resistance value and compare the resistance value at the three conductor points that are grounded using medium and without media. The method used in this study is to install rod electrodes according to predetermined points (A, B and C). Measurements were made at each electrode point in stages for 7 measurements, measurements using grounding measuring instruments (Eart Tester) at points A, B and C installed in the Kupang State Polytechnic campus area. Yield Resistance on the implanted electrode, where electrode A uses a large PVC pipe medium with the highest resistance value of 358 Ohm, the lowest 234 Ohm. The point B electrode uses a large Bamboo medium with the highest resistance value of 78 Ohm, the lowest 56.4 Ohms and the C point electrode Without using a large medium the highest resistance value is 138 Ohm, the lowest is 65.9 Ohm. From the results of the measurement of these three electrode points, it can be concluded that the electrode value at point B is close to the PUIL standard.
